Cannaoil Company produces a premium infused extra virgin oil combined with cannabis for medicinal healing. Produced in California, Cannaoil is only made of the good stuff, and is free of additives, preservatives, sugar, and gluten.
Here is the inside scoop on the woman behind Cannaoil:
What prompted you to start your company?
My start with Cannaoil was formed from my love of food (having been in the restaurant business for 20 years) and the diagnosis of SLE Lupus about 5 years ago.
I was on 16 pills a day, chemotherapy, and going to several doctors a week to manage the central nervous system brain deficiency I acquired. I had several restrictions on diet. Smoking was definitely on that list, not to mention sugar, salt and anything that would alter my metabolism. I needed something that would take the pain away (muscle and joint, massive headaches ) while not interacting adversely with my medications. Olive oil has a million health benefits alone, and cannabis is leading the fight in alternative medication. Voila, a new way to medicate without the nasty side effects.
Have you always been an entrepreneur?
I have one business partner whom I’ve known for over 10 years. We migrated from the adult novelty business into the cannabis world about 3 years ago. He is my marketing guru and networking arm. He and I manage the responsibilities equally. I handle sales and manufacturing, and he is everything else!
My family is not aware of my business with cannabis. I started in the vape world and sold off a company about 2 years ago. They were aware of that part of the business but with being from an old school Italian family, it’s more taboo than accepted.
How do you characterize the cannabis industry?
I call this business the Wild West. It has been a challenge to maintain good employees, retain relationships with the revolving door of personnel at the shops, and just the basic education of using an olive oil.
I think the cannabis industry will definitely evolve into a much more mature business. The advent of regulations and stricter codes on dosage will create a safer environment for patients and stores alike. I think the clientele will become more aware of other options in the edible market and hopefully the stigma of the cannabis industry will be dispelled for the greater good.
“We hope to continue to produce more all natural, organic line of products and provide alternative medication options to as many patients as possible.”
What advice do you have for someone trying to break into the business?
My advice for anyone getting into this business is to build a sales network first. The product and its manufacturing are the easy part, but building a good group around you to support your product is key. I would also say to stay true to your product. If you are using organic, natural ingredients, and maintaining the integrity of your brand, people will see that and want to buy from you. If you are in it for the money and the fame, this may not be the business for you. We are serving patients with real needs and this is a medicine at the end of the day.
What are your favorite ways to use Cannaoil?
There seems to be a misconception of how to use Cannaoil. Many think that they have to cook or deal with the makings of a recipe to enjoy the oil when all they have to do is drizzle it on ANY COOKED food. Very simple. Once that concept is understood, it’s smooth sailing. Cannaoil is great because all I have to do, or anyone has to do, is drizzle It. No cooking, no mess, no preparation. Just a teaspoon to start and you’re off!
Favorite food to pair with Cannaoil?
Favorite food is pizza so I drizzle it any time I get a chance!
