Wanna fill up your bellies with deliciousness before the Monday morning blahs? This Sunday, October 22, head over to the Eastside Food Festival located at the Mack Sennett Studios in Echo Park.
Now in its fourth year, the Eastside Food Festival has steadily evolved from a food festival to a scene that celebrates the diversity of Eastside LA’s gastronomic and cultural community. This festival will feature unlimited tastings from over 35 food and beverage vendors, including local restaurants, chefs and LA brands. It has a jam-packed schedule of live events including food demonstrations, live music, book signings and panel discussions.
With California deep in the middle of a cannabis revolution, the festival has added a brand new Cannabis Corner located inside the main Vendor Village. The section will focus on learning the ins and outs of cannabis cooking, with a live Cannabis Cooking 101 demonstration by Chefs Brandin Lashea and Luke Reyes. Chef Lashea is the host of “Pot Pie,” an original popular video series from PRØHBTD. Chef Reyes is a highly regarded LA chef and winner of Food Network’s “Chopped”.
Cannabis chef, Jeff the 420 Chef, dubbed the “The Julia Child of Weed” will be running live demonstrations on tips on how to infuse your own cannabutter and cannaoils at home. No cannabis will be served at the Cannabis Corner; however, those with medical marijuana cards will be able to walk over to MOTA dispensary and sample infused dishes, oils and other treats from 6-8 pm. Not a cardholder? Go to Hello MD and use the code ESFF to get $10 off a consultation.
If your feet eventually give out from walking all day, make sure to head over to LOKI’s booth and get a free mini “Food Coma” chair massage, a CBD-infused massage provided by their massage therapist onsite.
Ready to join in the fun? Tickets are available here and range from $65 to a general admission ticket to $95 for a VIP, which allows early entrance as early as 3 pm. Discounted tickets of $50 are also available for non-drinkers.
